If he dismisses his detail in favor of his own security team because he, for example, says he's lost faith in the Secret Service following an assassination attempt a month ago? If he does that I'd really watch him closely.
Great takes, and all very believable. The only one I have issue with is the federal gov shutdown. Hard to see Mike Johnson allowing that to happen. He's been behaving in ways that show he does have some pragmatic instincts. If the gov shuts down less than 2 months before the election, R's will be blamed as you suggest, and that will hurt them in the election. House R's have to at least pretend to think they can hold on to the House majority.

It would be nice to believe this, but there have been incidents that suggest his detail is in his cult.
